Password Strength Checker

Password Strength Checker gives you instant feedback on how secure your password is before you use it anywhere. It analyzes length, character variety, and common patterns to estimate how resistant it is to brute-force and dictionary attacks, then shows you what to fix—like adding more characters or avoiding predictable sequences. The check runs locally in your browser, so your actual password never leaves your device. Use it to quickly spot weak passwords and build stronger ones that keep your accounts safer.

We'll generate a strong alternative at this length (12–25 characters).

What is password entropy?

Entropy measures how unpredictable a password is. Higher entropy means an attacker needs exponentially more guesses to crack it. A good password has an entropy score above 70 bits and a minimum length of 12 characters.

Length — every extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations, dramatically increasing entropy.

Character variety — mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters expands the search space an attacker must cover.

Passwords with 70+ bits of entropy require an impractical amount of time to brute-force, even with modern hardware running billions of attempts per second.
